Wattpad exists for over 6 years now so there must be a lot of articles written about deleting Wattpad accounts . Most of them are outdated (except this one) because Wattpad has updated their system recently on 27 August 2016. This change allows users to delete Wattpad account easily and safely.
The Wattpad team is very generous in giving users control over their Wattpad pages. You can edit or delete Wattpad stories, comments, and even your entire Wattpad profile using this feature.
Or do you want to be anonymous on Wattpad ? It’s okay! When you mark a story as private/anonymous , it will stay that way forever (unless the author changes it).
With this update too, Wattpaders are given more options on how they manage their content on Wattpad . This is to make sure that everyone gets what they really want: privacy and freedom for readers, ability to express for authors.
Significant Wattpad update
Contrary to what Wattpad users think, Wattpad is not the only thing that changes. It’s rather Wattpaders who have changed. Wattpaders read more and spend less time on Wattpad . They want freedom from rules and censorship.
The biggest reason for deleting Wattpad account (as cited in many stories) is Wattpad’s policies against posting explicit content. Open the app on your iOS or Android Device. On this page, tap “Edit > Delete Account.” After doing so, you will see a confirmation screen. To confirm that you would like to delete your account, hit “Delete.” Your data is now cleared and matches are removed.
Wattpad has not publicly set any terms for the deletion of inactive profiles, but there are grounds in its Code of Conduct and Terms of Service to delete accounts that violate rules.

Bottom line – is Wattpad safe for kids? … We do not recommend Wattpad for users under 18. Honestly, you do not even have to look to find inappropriate content. Some parents have a joint account with their child, but they will still be exposed to explicit book descriptions and cover art.

How can I opt out of sharing my data?
You have the ability at any time to turn off tracking in your device settings by unchecking the following option: “Share anonymous usage statistics” (this has been added to the Android version for the new users and is on by default). I am under 13 years old and want to delete my account. Will I still be able to read all of what I have written? Can I remove everything from my library? Will these stories disappear from my app?
There is no way to delete your account, but there are settings in your device that allow you to stop Wattpad from using any of the information we collect from you. By turning off tracking in your device settings you will be able to continue reading all of what you have written without being tracked by us or anyone else. If you turn off the other settings that assist with loading content more quickly and also help to identify inappropriate content, then it is possible for those stories to disappear from your app because they may not be readily available for download on our servers anymore. However, everything will still remain completely anonymous through trash cans and searches as long as tracking is turned off on your devices. How can I help you delete my Wattpad account?
Unfortunately, there is no way to delete your Wattpad account because we don’t have the author’s permission to do this on their behalf (even if they’re under 13 years old). To stop using an app, you need to uninstall it from your device or device settings. However, even then we still collect some information about what content you interact with just for research purposes. We do not remove anything from profiles. The only thing we do is allow fans to see what you update in the app and on your profile page, which includes all ratings and comments.
For safety reasons, we review and monitor Wattpad for inappropriate adult content and other questionable material. You can help us by flagging any stories, chats or account content that you find inappropriate so that our moderators can investigate it as soon as possible. Please note that if someone rejects an invitation to chat with you through Wattpad’s messaging system then attempting to continue chatting with them outside of Wattpad may be considered stalking under applicable law.
